Businesses will receive some much needed guidance on how to involve cleaning and disinfecting in their post-COVID-19 reopening efforts.
A summary of our plan is as follows:
1. Focus on cleaning correctly
Businesses must make sure that surfaces are cleaned before they are disinfected. During this process, the people performing the cleaning must wear personal protective equipment.
2. Prepare to fight germs
The workers providing the cleaning should be armed with disinfectants that are on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of products believed to be effective in fighting COVID-19. If possible, electrostatic sprayers should be used.
3. Map out where the cleaning will take place
All frequently used items and frequently touched surfaces must be cleaned and disinfected or sanitized.
4. Protect those working inside the office
Businesses should purchase and strategically place hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes throughout the facility.
5. Limit who is coming into the facility
Access to the business should be limited so that probability of new germs being brought in is reduced.
